Fabric Headboard

One of the gifts we got last Christmas as a couple was a king size bed and of course. the sheets, blankets and  other items needed when upgrading to a larger bed. It was one change I just wonder why it took so long for us.   We like the look of the fabric headboard but we either did not like the choices or they were  a huge price shock. So we decide to make out own. After finding fabric that would work with our winter comforter we set about cutting a piece of plywood to the shape we desired. The wood was covered with batting using a spray adhesive. Fabric was then stretched and stapled to the back of the board. It is going to look nice against the wall once I get it painted and away from the paneling.  More to come! Can you tell I like the old world look?

Sitting on my desk ready for action are a bunch of pens, markers and pencils. Always useful for one project or another and a quick note.

There are not too many vibrant colors blooming today. We did not get enough rain this season for a great bloom. I noticed the poppies will be blooming in a few day. They do not last long but I always enjoy them. I have some lilacs blooming and a few tulips stay. The sage is a nice blue but not want I would call vibrant.  It is the time of year to get really busy planting so my days will be  full of planting for the next week or two until I get all the vegetables in.

A root, a stem, a leaf, some means of capturing sunlight and air and making food – in sum, a plant. The green substance of this earth, the chlorophyll, is all summed up in the plants. Without them we perish, all of us who are flesh and blood.

The Welsummer chicks are not quite pocket-sized any more but are growing fast. Their feathers are starting to grow.  Soon they will be chickagers.

I ma not too much or a phone user but it is helpful when I am out and about. This is me getting ready for work. I have a phone wallet that I placed it in. It is clear but I always need to take the phone out so being clear is useless. Anyways it has been a busy day so far at work and now I need to finish dinner and get to a class 45 minutes away in Manhattan.  That is Manhattan, Kansas.
